saQiDesert Dwellers are always keeping us up-to-date on the newest crazes in the psy/chill/downtempo world. Their next big release comes from a familiar face to many of us. Luke Solman a.k.a. saQi, who has been a fixture of The Polish Ambassador's Jumpsuit Records label is making his debut on Desert Trax.

His collaborative album with multi-instrumentalist suraj, Dust Into Gold, is coming out November 16, and it features a number of tunes infused with far-flung strings and haunting melodies—a perfect fit on the new label. The upbeat, dancey, house and Eastern-flavored vibes are plentiful.

Today we premiere a remix from the album, SAAND's intoxicating take on “Higher Place,” featuring the ephemeral vocals of Pepper Proud. Get lost in the swirling, moombah beat with gorgeous ebbs and flows in the tightly-wound energy. Michael Sandler is an LA fixture in the house and techno scene, and the sonic meeting of these talented minds is a breathtaking experience. The album also features a remix from Forever & Ever, a solo project of Treavor Moontribe from Desert Dwellers.

SAAND will be in Australia this weekend at Lake People Gathering alongside a bevy of big names, and saQi takes his album release tour to Nevada City, California. Then he's on the road with label bosses Desert Dwellers for four days next week, covering the Pacific Northwest with stops in Hood River, Eugene, Seattle, and Bellingham.
