MALAKAIOur fans out east are very familiar with Malakai Linden's dreamy compositions. A favorite of the downtempo, glitchy, and livetronica set, MALAKAI has carved himself a niche outside the arms race of the bass scene, and made his sound indispensible amongst those seeking deep, effervescent sounds in the underground electronic realm.

Enter Street Ritual, which tapped Mr. Linden for a brand new, four-track EP, Milieux, which literally gives west coast fans a glimpse of the MALAKAI milieux (French for “context” or “scope”). Fans get a wide-ranging view of what he does—today's premiere “Prunes” is more of a glitch-hop take, but there is meandering downtempo and joyful trip-hop in there. Collabs with 5AM and Smigonaut further advance that narrative.

For those lucky enough to have scored tickets to the downtempo night of Tipsgiving on Saturday, November 24th at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, you can see MALAKAI open up a night featuring Kaya Project, Spoonbill, and closing out with a Tipper set. That may be the all the recommendation you need to tip you off to Mr. Linden's talents. Pun most certainly intended.
