7. Artifakts - Take Your Time

The force is strong with young Garret Meyer. He's taken Artifakts project to new heights with seriously good production. Classy samples, smart arranging, and some solid allies in the field will make Meyer's star rise even further in 2015. He's the midwest's one to watch.

6. BRANX - Watermelon Bubblegum

Imagine my relief when I learned that DCarls wasn't dead, he was just reborn on the Lowtemp label as BRANX. Bringing high-flying, hard-edged glitch-hop sensibilities to Gramatik's hip-hop and soul world, you can see how this talented young producer is able to incorporate those classic flavors, but doesn't lose any of his in-your-face, flip-a-car-and-burn-it intensity.

5. Krooked Drivers - Take Me Back

Finding a home on Michal Menert and Mux Mool's SUPER BEST RECORDS, Krooked Drivers launched a wildly popular album just a few short months ago. "Take Me Back" really underlies the dark, brooding sound of Donnie Dalbora and Maddy O'Neal. It's dirtier, angrier, and a little nastier than many of their contemporaries.
