Fans of Dave Tipper have much to celebrate this holiday season. With much mystery surrounding the release of his newest EP, Flunked, there's finally as concrete an answer as one can hope for from the Tipper camp with the drop date slated as "next week."
Earlier this month, Tipper slipped out “Sleeper,” a tribute to his stepfather PJ, who had just passed. On a similarly beautiful tone, the latest tune to be teased, “Virga,” is a stunning, wandering, ambient exercise in delicate musings. Bouncing between lullaby and movie score, the emotion packed into each second of this song is palpable.
Tipper dropped a number of these new tunes during his three-day Fillmore run in Denver back in October, including the title track (video below). Looking ahead on the calendar, fans are excited for the return to The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida for Tipper & Friends: The Nocturnal Edition May 19-20. Announced acts on the two-day camping festival include Shpongle (Simon Posford) LIVE Twilight Set, LTJ Bukem, Jade Cicada, and HullabaloO.
