The first Skeetones live p.a. set is in the books. In between festival dates with the Cincinnati quintet, Stump (DJ/producer Cole Brokamp) and Cheddar (bassist David Sweitzer), will be doing a string of Summer gigs featuring their beats, and remixes of songs off the band's latest release Retrospektive. The pair has already released their first collaboration, a throwback synth-laden, glitch and dub-infused cut. Patience is mostly certainly a virtue employed by Cheddar and Stump. The drop in "Propose This!" arrives at the two-thirds mark with surprising intensity given the bulk of the chill track. Glitchy hoovers reminiscent of Bass Science's Matt B are paired with FreQ Nasty-style dub chords. The duo lulls you into a false sense of security before hitting you with the goods.
