One of our greatest joys in stacking The Untz Festival with so much new blood is that we can shine a spotlight on some acts we've seen claw their way up since day 1. Brandon Reid and Jacob Tullos have been steady grinding in Knoxville, Tennessee for years, and now it's our honor and privilege to see Moniker slotted up on the ThazDope Records stage.
What makes things all the sweet, is that their new free download series, Moniker Mondays, runs smack into a free download Monday series from one of our favorite record labels, Saturate Records, and their series, Mondaze Finest, so now we've got a whole The Untz Festival x Clap Your Feet x Saturate thing going on, and the winner is you. And now Mondays don't suck nearly as much.
“Morning Star” is a straight up dirty tune. Reid and Tullos are shredding your subs with plenty of fuzz bass and retro dub wubs. It's a shockingly catchy cut with a seriously bad attitude. We cannot wait to hear it crisp and clean and powerful enough to blow our hair back on the Funktion-One rig ThazDope is bringing out to Mariposa, California in June.
What an honor to share new Saturate songs with you—spreading that subsonic love all the way from Germany—but it's an even better feeling when the dudes who produced it are planning to throwdown at your festival. Feels damn good.
