Derek VanScoten has been bouncing around the US music industry almost as much as he has bounced around musically.  While honing his guitar skills, he studied studio production in Tennessee before moving to Boulder, CO to pursue a music degree.  In the rich acoustic scene of Boulder, D.V.S* picked up the mandolin and dove head first into bluegrass, playing with funk, jam, and jazz acts like the Motet and String Cheese Incident.

Finally, VanScoten dug into his closet full of electronic gear and began merging his organic and digital worlds, creating chill, downtempo, hip-hop, and crunk combos of groove-heavy beats with soaring guitar licks.  With several albums, remixes, and EPs to his credit, D.V.S* is making waves in the electronic music scene on the east coast, and across the country.

Bass Science will be featured on next week's The Untz Podcast.  The duo of producer Matt B. and live drummer Devin Landau has been pumping dubstep and glitch-hop throughout the west, and, with their addition to the 1320 Records roster, is looking to slay the rest of the country with their furious bass sounds.
