In fall of last year (when we were all running up in public places without a care in the world like fools, utter fools) I got hyped to E Knocks via UNKNWN and their collab, “Open Your Eyes,” which I premiered with glee. Now, Eric Lautenbach is back on the solo tip, and I'm just as excited about the product he's running.
The New England-based producer slid us “Run Up With That Heat,” which features an eerie build and then a wanging 160 drop that broke a smile right across my face. It's a damn shame nobody can hear this on a big system, save for the rig owners who have broken down and set their shit up in their living rooms just to hear the rattle of that sub bass.
Someday, when the world opens back up, we'll be able to watch him rise in the ranks of producer/DJs, but in the meantime I promise to make it my duty to ensure E Knocks doesn't fall through the quarantine cracks.
