EXCISION w/ MC JERU THE DAMAJA

http://www.myspace.com/excision | http://www.facebook.com/Excision | Kelowna, British Colombia, Canada

Taking influence from Drum and Bass, Metal, and Hip Hop, Excision is a Dubstep artist who must be heard to be fully believed. Combining the morphing basslines of Drum and Bass, the aggressive energy of Metal, and the laid back vibes of hip hop, Excision’s style is incomparable. At only 22, this prodigy hailing from up north in Canada has rapidly grown to become of the biggest Dubstep acts of North America. If you’re lucky enough to catch a live set, expect an assault of bass-heavy tracks, mixed quickly and seamlessly. His first release, “No Escape” on his label Rottun Recordings sold out and repressed. Shortly after he was asked by EDM superstars Pendulum to remix their latest single “Showdown.” Forthcoming collabs will include: Bassnectar, SPL, DZ + more. Global tours and festival stops, nods from industry and top producers worldwide, and picking up fans faster than a wild brush fire out of control, Excision is only warming up on what can only be described as the future of dubstep!

JERU THE DAMAJA***SPECIAL GURU TRIBUTE PERFORMANCE***

http://www.myspace.com/jeru | http://www.thedamaja.com/ | Brooklyn, NY

Jeru began his legacy in Brooklyn where he started rapping at block parties at a very young age. He first showcased his hardcore Brooklyn style to audiences on "I'm the Man," track from Gang Starr's 1992 album Daily Operation. The following year, he released his first single "Come Clean", an instant his, which was produced by DJ Premier. His first album, "The Sun Rises in the East" in 1994 brought him much acclaim and is still considered a benchmark in the industry! His second album in 1996, "Wrath Of the Man", again with DJ Premier brought him further into the spotlight and also began to showcase his individuality. His track "One Day" gave his perception on commercial directions in hip hop which led to his inevitable seclusion until 1999. His 3rd album "Heroz4hire" was self-released on his own Know Savage Records. This continued the controversial "999 Pa Cent" cut. "Divine Design" followed in 2003 also self-released on Ashenafi Records and even more recently "Still Rising" in 2007 continue to prove his ability, perseverance, and passion to what he TRUE-ly loves - absolutely smashing stages to bits with a mic! For those from the way-back, Jeru was a significant figure at the original sold out crowd True Luck party @ Asylum. Tonight will be a very special show in tribute to another legend, the recently passed Guru, as he performs a set of all Guru material in what can only described as history in the making!

EVOL INTENT(dj set)

http://www.myspace.com/evolintent | http://www.evolintent.com | Los Angeles & NYC

The Atlanta-based Evol Intent are among the greatest purveyors of the incendiary, evolving modern jungle sound. Operating as a three piece power troop, Knick, Gigantor, and the Enemy have produced some of the most progressive drum n’ bass to date. Their influence is global! Birthed out of hardcore-punk culture, the trio developed a unique method for wrecking soundsystems. Their sounds combines dynamic drum mechanics, razor sharp edits, sawtooth synths and discord resonant of their punk youth. A large discography includes work on Renegade Hardware, Barcode, Outbreak, Human, and their own Evol Intent label. Dieselboy requested their skills for his acclaimed “Dungeon Master’s Guide” compilation, remixing a track from the world-renowned BT. They have produced tracks for video games like the coveted EA Sports’ “Need for Speed” and Adult Swim promo adds. They also solidified other partnerships with Chris Renegade, Ewun, Apex and Spor to create Lifted Music. “Glock Party”, Evol Intent’s contribution to the label’s inaugural release “The Prologue EP” became an undeniable underground smash-a track that Goldie has been spinning all over the world and boldly states that “the reaction has been mental.” Their "Era of Diversion" EP showcases their many styles. Never resting, the boys' side projects: Hostage (Knick, Mayhem & Ewun) for breakbeat, Minus Music for downtempo, and Treasure Fingers (The Enemy) for electro, and Gigantor doing engineering and mixdowns. Unstoppable, awe-inspiring, and energy that cannot be denied, the Evol Intent experience is about to take NE by storm!

http://www.myspace.com/djodi | True Productions | NYC

A mainstay at New York's famous NASA parties in 1992, DJ ODI helped mold and continues to represent Jungle & Drum 'N Bass in the Northeast and beyond. Tonight he will rock our old friend MC POSI-D, for a classic Asylum set that will rinse the old school out of your baggy camo ufos!

|||||||||||||||||||||||| ALSO FEATURING:

The Asylum wouldn't have had a 6 year run had it not been for the support from all points in the Northeast. With this final installment of the Asylum Reunion, we at True Productions felt it was necessary to show respect to as many people possible, who helped the Asylum along the way. Even with a total of 6 stages across two venues, we don't have enough time to fit in all the Artists, DJs, & MCs that we wanted. Many of the the DJs below will be doing tag sets or playing shortened sets to make this work!
