Hatiras, is a multi award-winning artist originally from Toronto, Canada. He has established himself as one of the planet's top, and most consistent electronic music DJs & producers.
Throughout the '90s Hatiras was involved in the scene as a rave promoter. He formed and led a promotions company called "Liquid Adrenaline" that attracted up to 10,000 people per event in zany venues including airplane hangers, train stations, hotel suites, poolsides and convention halls.
His vast knowledge and contacts in the scene eventually led him into the world of music production and a fruitful record deal with IHR - the infamous Chicago based record label headed by Bad Boy Bill. At the time, the IHR/Mix Connection family, which included artists such as Hatiras, Paul Johnson, H-Foundation, CZR, Angel Alanis, Steve Smooth, JJ Flores and Bryan Cox was making a huge impact on the world of house music.
By 2001 Hatiras scored a massive worldwide hit called "Spaced Invader" that released on the UK's Defected Records and Australia's Ministry of Sound. It was exalted as one of the most successful house anthems of the new millennium. This technologically advanced, funk encoded song tracked at the number one position on Coolcuts and the UK's Buzz Chart, was repeatedly acclaimed as Pete Tong's "Essential New Tune", landed a top 20 UK hit and awarded Hatiras a prestigious Juno Award and Canadian SOCAN award for most radio airplay. It featured additional remixes from Hatiras, CZR, Olav Basoski, Darren Emerson, Ian Pooley, King Unique, J-Majik, Optical and High Contrast along with the exemplary vocal talents of Bassment Jaxx companion Slarta John. He quickly followed this release with the debut of his album "Arrival" that introduced a new style of energetic, spacey disco house that sent shock waves across the industry.
Receiving continuous support in clubs and heightening countless mix compilations, Hatiras’ funky sounds were heard complimenting the sets of DJs like Bad Boy Bill, Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, Judge Jules, Eric Morillo, Danny Rampling, Roger Sanchez, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong and The Chemical Brothers. With his energetic and wacky frequencies modulating the dance music scene, radio stations around the planet picked up the signals. Trade publications 7, DJ, Face, Jockey Slut, M8, Ministry, Mixmag, Loud, Move-X, Klublife and countless television programs raced to let the world know about Hatiras' new sound.
His original, wacky and energetic production style has been requested to remix for some of the biggest names and labels in the dance music world. His production wizardry has been featured on the music of artists such as pop diva Kylie Minogue, disco queen Loleatta Holloway, Kevin Irving, Junior Jack, Ministers de La Funk (Erick Morillo, Jose Nunez and Harry "Choo Choo" Romero), Tom Novy, Olav Basoski, Carole Pope, The Bomfunk MCs, MC Flipside, Canadian idol winner Eva Avila and labels including IHR, Azuli, Defected, Manifesto, Ministry of Sound, Parlophone, V2, Sony Records, Toolroom, PBR (to name just a few).
By 2004 Hatiras formed the first of his two record labels "Blow Media." Through this outlet Hatiras pushed a new brand of funky/electro house that featured collaborations with artists including France's Antoine Clamaran, Robbie Rivera, DJ Dan and the global introduction of a new breed of artists that included Macca, Adam K, Kid Massive, Chris Kaeser, Hirshee, MC Messinian and more. Notable releases included the massive "Money Shot", the Juno Award winning "Spanish Fly" and his collaborations with DJ Dan "Love For The Weekend" and "Baked From Scratch". He followed with a series of 3 albums called "Electronic Luv" and a fourth, joint album with Macca called "Whites & Dubs" that sold exceptionally well in a time where major labels were reeling from the effects of illegal digital downloading.
With the switch over to digital music in full effect, and the new domination of Beatport as the world's top digital download site for DJ music, Hatiras and his label Blow Media were among the first to embrace the new technology and release music digitally. His label increased the output, while maintaining quality to grow into one of the highest selling digital labels on Beatport, second only to a major label in the US. The impact of the Blow Media sound was felt around the world with an increased demand for Hatiras tour dates spanning the globe. Tour dates passed across Canada, USA, Japan, Colombia, Australia, Poland, Germany, Belgium, UK, Serbia and more).
By 2007 Hatiras was feeling overwhelmed by the exploded size of his Blow Media Label and all the administrative duties that came with it. He decided to go back to his artist roots and launch a more intimate, boutique label called Hatrax. The hit parade never stopped. In fact, Hatiras' sound continued to evolve with the times, adapt, and dominate both the charts and record crates. A new string of releases featured vocalist MC Flipside and fused elements of hip hop with new electro house ("Just The Tip", "Get Blahsted", "Autograph" and "Open Up Your Eyes"). Hatrax Records also saw the release of solo work ("Bass Monkeys", "This Sound", "Poppin Beats", etc.), collaborations with DJ Jelo ("Donkey Punch", "SpeakerHumper") and MC Messinian ("Out My Face" and "Tear The Roof Off"). All of these songs were, at the least, genre top tens on Beatport and often top tens overall (including many #1 spots).
By the end of 2008 Hatiras was nominated along with Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Dave Spoon and Olivier Giacomotto as one of the top electro house artists on Beatport (a legitimate chart based on actual record sales not a fabrication based on advertising, payment or connections). Based on the momentum of his Hatrax releases Hatiras released a new album in 2008 called "Crazy Nights, Neon Lights". The album, which continues to be a huge success in both physical retailers and at iTunes led to the "Crazy Nights, Neon Lights" tour which lit up cities across the globe. The shows and adventures, which are all documented through online galleries have added more fuel to the fire, increasing Hatiras' direct friend/fan-base to over 100,000 and well over 1 million Myspace plays.
Throughout this whirlwind of touring and constant music production Hatiras continues to embrace the online world with the release of his weekly radio program called "Hatiras Presents." The show, which launched in 2006 on FM in Toronto, broadcasts to over a dozen stations and blogs worldwide. Each episode surpasses 100,000 listeners per show and can be found in the ipods and laptops of fans across the world. It features mixes by artists hand picked by Hatiras to help educate the masses on proper, fresh DJ-based music from the underground.
More recently, Hatiras has become involved with the Roots Society family of DJs that perform at the annual Burning Man festival that is attended by 50,000 people. Roots Society is spearheaded by dot-com guru Jefr Tale and consists of a true family of DJs and artists that include Hatiras, Joachim Garraud, DJ Dan, Jelo, Donald Glaude, Santiago & Bushido and others. They gather every year to camp in the desert, share their music and celebrate art and creative freedom. To try to explain the impact the Burning Man experience has on creative expression, evolution and community would only scratch the surface.
Hatiras continues to make a massive global impact and has no trouble keeping the clubs crowded with his supporters eager to join the gathering. Although he's been heavily involved in the dance/house music scene for well over a decade (and most of his life), he still feels that he's just "warming up" and has a lot of new tricks up his sleeve that'll continue to surprise us.
So what's next for Hatiras we ask? Well for one, tour dates and releases will continue at a frantic pace. New collaborations with DJ Dan, Laidback Luke and Dave Spoon are forthcoming. And you can expect him to revisit and update some of his classic sounds - including his "New Disco EP" and a forthcoming remix package of "Spaced Invader" for 2010 that features contributions by many of the industries heavyweights! Big!

Reid Speed began her DJ career in the New York City drum & bass underground. As a teenage raver full of passion for music she bought her turntables in early 1996 and began playing out less than a year later. Her early sets generated curiosity as one of few female DJs at the time but Reid quickly came to earn respect for her skills in the highly competitive NYC scene. By the summer of '97 she was a resident of rave promoters Stuck on Earth and the following year a member of the Direct Drive crew. At their numerous events she cut her teeth playing alongside the top names in US & UK drum & bass, 2 step and breaks.
At the same time Reid was serving as her college radio station's RPM director as well as working at Breakbeat Science, the US's first exclusively drum & bass store. Capitalizing on their large and widespread customer base, her demos soon spread across the country, which led to her travelling the US, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Canada, and Mexico. She also visited England and developed a love for UK Garage which inspired her to promote her own events. In 1998 she distributed her first garage/2 step mix and in 2000, Reid, DB and 4.0 Marketing came together to do a successful series of 2 step events, including the first UK Garage showcase at the 2000 Winter Music Conference.
By 1999 Reid had also begun working on original production, releasing "SIMPLOT" with FS on Jungle Sky, and in 2000 assisting Datcyde with a remix of NYC jungle anthem "Naughty Ride" featuring MC Blaise, which was released on Taciturn. 2001's saw the release of her debut mix cd, "Resonance", which yielded "Mr Fix It" with Ming & FS, and "Picture This" with DJ Seen. Then a remix of Le Tigre's "Dyke March 2001" followed. 2005 and into the '06 have seen Reid collaborate with Jon (S), Sense, MC Dino and DJ Swamp on an full length album of breaks and drum & bass that she hopes to release later this year. And In March 2006 her remix of Disorder's "Deadline" was released on Acumen Records.
In 2001, after thirteen self released mix tapes and one animated short movie for Showtime's Shonext channel, "Resonance" was released by Breakbeat Science. The mix garnered massive critical praise in publications like URB, Fader, Flaunt, and Paper, and was a commercially successful debut. In support of the release, a 40 date tour sponsored by Mixer magazine introduced her sound to an even wider audience. Immediately after wrapping that tour, Reid came home to NYC only to jump right on another tour, this time with Madhattan breakbeat kings Ming & FS. They did 28 dates in 30 days across America in an RV, like an indie band. Warming the crowd up for an average of 3 hours a night, Reid developed and fine tuned her now signature genre-blending style.
After that month on the bus Reid was primed for a massive change. She moved to Los Angeles, home of all things music to take her career to the next level. She found different audience on the West Coast, fans who embraced her love of breaks and house and welcomed her with open ears. She started Rude Sound, a party showcasing UK Garage and nu skool breaks.
Then in the summer of 2003, Breakbeat Science came calling for their second mix, a stormer entitled "Life After Dark". Inspired by the terrible tragedy of 9/11 and the bureaucratic decline of the NYC scene it was another step forward for Ms Speed. Another tour followed, supported by a number of full page ads and an extensive street marketing campaign with Triple 5 Soul, their "Define Your Soul" series with Jean Grae, Charlie Dark, and Peanut Butter Wolf. During that summer, Reid also recieved a call from a TV show looking for a special DJ to provide on-air flavor to the show. After competing against hundreds of male scratch/hip hop DJs, Reid was personally chosen by Jamie Kennedy to spin her own blend of drum & bass on his show, the Jamie Kennedy Experiment (WB). She went on to also appear as the DJ in an episode of Spike TV's MDN.
2005 saw Reid chosen to judge BPM Magazine & Rockstar Energy drink's "Beauty & the Beats" contest with Dj Rap and Colette. She and Colette then toured with the winner and appeared in more full page ads as well as on an episode of Bravo's "Blowout".
Her mixes and original tracks have recently been featured on Power 106's "Power Tools" show, Groove Radio, ibreaks.co.uk, and many of her original productions are currently being caned by some of the top djs and producers from around the world. Stay tuned, keep it locked, for the best sounds are yet to come from the little beauty with the big beats!

PROPA TINGZ is responsible for some of the biggest dance floor bangers to emerge from the west coast scene in recent years. Originally hailing from the UK PropaTingz made his way to San Francisco and has since emerged as one of the hottest names on the US Nu-school electronica scene. Under his previous moniker as BreakBeatBuddha he helped forge the now lauded California Glitch Hop scene alongside artists such as the Glitch Mob, edit and Laser Sword. As PropaTingz he is widely acknowledged as the pioneer of Glitch Step, a bad bwoy sound clash of Bay Area Hyphy, Dirty South Crunk, UK Bass and the cutting edge of Glitch. But to see how he got here lets rewind and take it from the edge.......
Although hailing from humble beginnings PROPATINGZ with his unmistakably British delivery and his brash, in-your-face, bottom-heavy beats have brought on a worldwide buzz for the electronic music producer. Born Anthony Traynor, he was raised in the badlands of Wolverhampton in a public housing project which was notoriously rough. Although often seduced by the rush of violence and crime he managed to find a focus within the Graffiti and Hip Hop scenes. From that point on began a love affair with the underground which would take him across the globe. Here he found not only a context in which he could be free of the repression that enveloped him but in this he also found a tool with which to change and challenge that very realty; music and art as powerful weapons in a revolutionary struggle for freedom of self.
"Its not just about partying or having a good time......its about being us and being free. Its a kind of voodoo, a thing we do to reclaim ourselves. Its says a lot about the society we live in. Mobile phones, cappuccinos and 9 - 5 makes it look like we are happy....but there is something missing and thats what the underground is about....."
He took his cues from the masters of the underground, artists such as Derrick May (Godfather of Detroit Techno), Erik B & Rakim, KRS 1, and later, Drum and Bass producers, Dillinja and Goldie. His first gigs saw him playing warehouse parties in London, Manchester and Birmingham, cutting his teeth on live sets with the likes of "Death in Vegas", the "Capoeira Twins" and holding down a residency at Brighton's infamous Zen Bar before blazing a trail West and finding a haven in the Burning Man community.
PROPA TINGZ has been immersed in the US underground electronic scene for 8 years now and has claimed center stage on the DJ circuit.. Recent years have seen PropaTingz/Break Beat Buddha on numerous releases, including his explosive debut album "Mind Bombin' (2007), "The New Resistance" EP (2008) and collaborations/compilations with Bassnectar, Talvin Singh and Dj Spooky amongst others. His production is attracting interest globally catching the attention of heavy hitters such as FreQ Nasty who collaborated with him on 'Peacemaker', track 2 of his Fabric live 42 CD (FABRIC, LONDON), and similarly with Vienna's bass emperor "STEREOTYP" (G-stone recordings, Crunch Time). In the pipe line PropaTingz brings a remix project with KRS 1 and Heavy weight Dub Champion on Champion Nation recordings, a single with FreQ Nasty, and the first PropaTingz studio album. 2009 looks to be a big year for the San Francisco/Midlands Glitch and Bass Maestro.
