Beltek 2009 was a huge success. We had over 2,000 attendees, 3 days and two nights of great music, and raised $4,000 for local charities! But, we also took a huge toll on our neighbors, property, and personal lives.
After much deliberation, we have decided to take a year off from the large-scale BelTek Arts & Music Festival. After seven great years, we will use this year to reorganize, plan, and arrange the resources necessary for a massive BelTek 2011. This was not an easy decision, but based on the needs of the town of Belmont, the funds required to initiate the festival, personal circumstances, and the lack of a large piece of property, we had to take a break.
But, we love our thousands of fans, we love the music, and we love putting on events. So, we had to do something. And BelTek X is what we have for 2010. This will be a one night event, in Portland, Maine. This is for people who truly love the rave music, scene, and culture to come together for one night and have a great time. It is a gift for the people of Portland to enjoy: something very different than the usual. The event will be a fundraiser for the BelTek 2011 Capital Campaign.
Our main goals for 2010 are to find a suitable piece of property to host 3-5,000 people, and interested investors who share our vision for the future. If you have suggestions for either of these, please feel free to get in touch. No stone will be left unturned.
Thank you all for your continued love and support! See you on August 7th.
