The sounds of Sol Rising maybe new to some, but the elements of his lush soundscapes are as old as time, itself. The deep, earthy tones of Mystical Awakening, the latest studio effort from Brandon Au, blend downtempo, glitch-hop, and world music for a fusion of healing tracks that cover a gamut of styles.

From the bassy punch of "Never Give Up" to the glitch of title track, "Mystical Awakening," to the sweetly simple "Bird and Seed" featuring the subtle vocals of Zipporah, Sol Rising demostrates a range of talents and production techniques with his album.

Those familiar with Au know of his background as a technically proficient turntablist. His attention to detail, which undoubtedly got him to the DMC Championships ten years ago, comes through in his pursuit of perfection with each miniscule edit on this album.

The transformational scene has earned another star, with Sol Rising top the top of the heap. With years of performance under his belt, there's no doubt you'll be seeing this young talent hitting festival stages across the country for many years to come. We're excited.
