Friday, 4/26, is night two of Bassnectar's double header at the House of Blues in Boston. RISE has enlisted the help of Connecticut-based production duo Arclite, and RISE resident Mike Swells, to keep the party going LATE.
In 2010 brothers Jake and Gabe Spector began formally working together as Arclite. Their genre could generally be called House, but their actual musical influences come from hundreds of different artists, producers, DJ's and bands. The duo had spent many years developing specific tastes in various genres of dance music, specifically french house, hard trance, and more esoteric forms of dubstep. Arclite is an amalgamation of these styles and many more. Their catalogue of original music and remixes of various artists (Daft Punk, Zedd, Steve Aoki, ATrak, Deadmau5, Amy Winehouse, Luke Vibert...) is diverse and continually expanding.
Arclite's live sets can last 30 minutes or 5 hours, and they have been known to play three different shows in an evening without repeating tracks. This will mesh perfectly with Mike Swells musical acumen, which is also extensive, genreless, and appropriate for those fuzzy late night / early morning cerebral moments.
In the lounge, Boston-based artist Dequalia will stretch his wings over 5 hours, taking you up and down every genre of electronic music in a manner you've likely never before experienced. He's a beast in the booth, and also a driving force behind this year's 2013 Together Festival. Take some time downstairs to check his sounds.
