Three times now in just about as many months, we have brought our fans the insane sounds of new Bay Area trio XotiX's sound. Jake Bragonier, Richie Lucov, and David Monath have now joined forces with a rising bass collective out of Florida, Wubaholics, to share their high-intensity brand of hybrid dubstep and trap.
The result is Type III, an intoxicating pair of tunes that goes hard on bass, cinematic flair, and production technique. It's clean, it's fearsome, and it's a sign that these three young gentlemen are poised to take this scene by storm. Every other mainstream bass act better thank their lucky stars we're in a pandemic, otherwise these guys would have stolen their jobs. They're that good.
Today's premiere, “Fallout,” is dramatic, has a classic throwback sci-fi tie-in, and absolutely snaps. Sure, it's fun, but actual technical skill it took to produce these tracks is nakedly evident. I guess three heads are better than one, because these boys are absolutely tearing through releases, and each one is better than the last.
