tsimbaAfter years of waiting for it, fans at The Untz Festival finally got to experience tsimba in the flesh and on the west coast this past summer. Mark Evans Musto is an east coast staple of the underground bass scene, but we've been craving his sounds on the left coast after massive heaters like “Hugo” and his DeeZ collab, “SupaHot.”

Now instead of his normal “future roots sound,” Musto is pulling out the “spooky roots” sound as all thoughts turn to the Halloween season as soon as Labor Day Passes. This week tsimba dropped “DOFLAMINGO,” a terrifying and tantalizing trip dome some dark and scary passages. The usual, happy-go-lucky bounce we're used to is supplanted by a gripping evilness that shrouds this tune. It's got that signature tsimba squiggle bass that moves those bodies across the dance floor, though.

tsimba is in Colorado for two shows next week, then heads back up to the northeast for Equinox Festival in New England over the weekend.
