This month was a toughie here at TheUntz.com. Huge release after huge release came thundering down the internet superhighway (remember when that was a thing?) and we've been absolutely drowning in these crazy new tunes from artists covering every conceivable genre. We're thrilled to bring you the best in electro, glitch-hop, downtempo, dubstep, live electronic, and stuff we can't even begin to categorize. We know we're going to make more enemies than friends with this list, but this is how we see things. These are your best EDM releases for the month of October.

10. Up Until Now - Come Too Far EP
Up Until Now - Top 10 EDM Releases - October 2013
We're so proud of Jay Murphy. Up Until Now spent the back half of the summer on the road with STS9 and Umphrey's McGee, but still managed to find time to churn out some real glitch-hop gems. The southern producer has an ear for swing, and his live shows are perenially off the chain. After a big October, we're looking to see a whole slew of dates being added to Jay's already packed gig schedule. Onwards and upwards, good sir!

9. VibeSquaD - Spinning Gears and Making Things
VibeSquaD - Top 10 EDM Releases - October 2013
Hot damn this new VibeSquaD album is a treasure! The maniacal beatsmith is always breaking all the rules and changing up his game. The fluttering beeps and boops dot a post-apocalyptic background of rusty car parts and battered tin signs. Aaron Holstein keeps it fresh with such a masterful dosage of odd sounds and sonic sketches. There's plenty of funk to keep that junk in your trunk all sorts of sprung. Read our complete review.

8. DYNOHUNTER - Megawatts and Monoliths EP
DYNOHUNTER - Top 10 EDM Releases - October 2013
We were thrilled to participate in the release of DYNOHUNTER's EP release. Megawatts and Monoliths is a shining example of the kind of incredible production ability this young Boulder trio posesses. They break out of the jamtronica mold with a flurry of different styles and attack a wide range of electronic ideas to keep the album fresh and make sure they don't get pigeonholed by narrow-minded bloggers. Totally unlike us. Read our complete review.

7. Singularity - Rift EP
Singularity - Top 10 EDM Releases - October 2013
One of our favorite producers graced us with a new album this past month. Singularity is number one in our hearts on the Play Me roster, because of his continued prolific prowess. Always pushing his game to the next level and tackling new sounds and styles, the guy just keeps getting better and better, and we're continually impressed with what he's able to offer up. This is a special producer whose time has come. Read our full review here.

6. Break Science - Seven Bridges
Break Science - Top 10 EDM Releases - October 2013

What else is there to say about Borahm Lee and Adam Deitch? Break Science is crushing it out on the road as part of the Pretty Lights live band, and in between gigs, these guys have found time to throw down at after parties, and turn out the gorgeous album Seven Bridges. There is so much depth and soul in this record, and the hip-hop veterans just know how to tug on your heart strings. Also some straight up bangers on this one. An extraordinary accomplishment.
