TaotempoWe've been flooded with some really good psychedelia from Mindspring Music this year. The nascent indie label has been exposing us to a lot of ambient, downtempo, dub, and global glitch artists who might have otherwise slipped by us unnoticed if it weren't for the gentle proddings and pokings of label head Twin Shape who manages to scour the webs for the best of the best.

One of those discoveries this year was Taotempo, who showed up on a Mindspring comp this fall. With a new album due out in just a couple of days (December 23), we got our hands on Nature Never Hurries, which covers a ton of ground from really squelchy and slow, to midtempo stompers ready to move dance floors.

Today's premiere is “Squish Chakra,” which is on the faster side of the collection, but really stays true to its dubby rhythm. Bearing a tropical feel and a no-nonsense attitude, the enveloping soundscape really propels the listener into some spectacular sonic moods. With ups and downs, there's a truly adventurous spirit in this one. Snag this debut album when it drops on Friday.
