Favorite ThisSlynk & Mr. Bill collab on 'I Got Dis,' Front Yard Futon out August 14

What do you call a couple of Aussies crafting thriling glitch-hop?

Don't try to construct some sort of newfangled stereotype, it's just Slynk and Mr. Bill throwing it down.

Two of our favorite glitch producers join forces not once but twice on the forthcoming Front Yard Futon from SectionZ Records. Slynk, born Evan Chandler, has relocated from Australia to Canada, while we've hung on to Bill Day here in the States. But you can't keep the friends and frequent collaborators down, border patrol--you hear us?? These two have been trading files and working on new material non-stop. In fact, Slynk is at the moment stewing up an Electrocado (that's Mr. Bill + Ryanosaurus) remix in his lab.

"I Got Dis," which will drop August 14th along with the rest of the album (which features even more collabs with some of our faves like JPOD), definitely has a future glitch aesthetic, with a chiller, hip-hop disposition. We're used to these two smashing us over the head, but this one's subtle. On top of its Postal Service / Owl City submerged melodies, the duo layers in a glimmer of Marvin Gaye from "Let's Get It On," and tops it off with a rather smooth layer of chopped bits and pieces, as you'd expect from these two. The future is now for this funky pairing. If I'm not mistaken, that's a house vibe from these glitch gods.

You can hear a clip of this new track backing footage of Slynk's high-energy performance at Astral Harvest last month. This should tide you over until Friday, when the album is released in its entirety.

Pre-order Front Yard Futon from SectionZ before it's August 14 release!
