Shlump was a major highlight of The Untz Festival in 2017, he set the bar high and lit the dance floor up. In his newest release, “Cataclysm,” put out last week by Stylust Beats' Sleeveless Records, I’m reminded of old school arcade Tron combined with some extraterrestrial armageddon.
The second drop adds layers of intensity with its slinky highs and the track makes me feel like I should be playing the most extreme game of Bop-it in the universe.
Shlump has mastered the ability to be a pioneer of the game all while keeping it old school in his dub progressions. He was a big part of Space Jesus' weekend run in the northeast with a series of sold out shows, and fans reacted positively to Michael Petzel's insanely experimental sound. We look forward to 2018 and all the Shlump-y goodness he will offer our hungry ears.
