G Jones today unleashed his brand new free EP, Ring the Alarm, for your listening pleasure. What we have is 9 brand new tracks (a couple with sneak previews) and a whole ton of deep, head- bangin bass perfectly tuned to cruise through the golden days of summer. Almost a year after the release of his debut, Eyes EP, Greg Jones has taken supreme care to craft a heavy hitting, fresh vibing sound selection that stays true to his sonic signature.

Ring the Alarm brings out the best in bass culture from down- low sub lines and rattling synth leads to the spacey future-dub overtones that work it all into a supremely satisfying package. Each track incorporates his style in fresh ways while holding true to the atmosphere of the music itself amidst hot dusty stages and dank, packed club halls. It plays smoothly on late night drives and smashes dance floors inside and out. Anyone out there who has caught the G Jones live set will know what I mean.

The very first track properly exemplifies how G Jones operates. “Into the Digital Abyss” opens in a crash of subs, chimes and sirens before popping in dubbed piano chords and a buzzing synth track. Prepare yourself because: 40 seconds in will blow the panels off your system. The heart of this track hammers to the chatter and pop of snares and kick drums while floating to a nice selection of trippy dub samples. As an intro track, this one certainly begs you to check out what else is in store.

The title track locks out any doubt that this is all about raw bass business. Flaring horns call in the cavalry which absolutely brings the roof down. The smack of clap samples pops huge bass kicks into line and throws it all forward fast and smooth like no-one saw it comin’.

Along the road G Jones has teamed up with the likes of German bass wizard Doshy, partner- in-crime Mad Zach and Burning Man teammate Minnesota. Each of these characters stops in for a featured track on the new EP for even more fun. “Orbital” with Minnesota is part of an ongoing collab between the two producers. If you are lucky enough, keep an eye out for the G Jones B2B Minnesota set at select special events.

After releasing the “Drift VIP” as a teaser, you can look forward to another five original tracks that will keep your ears ringing and your heads rocking steady. Ring the Alarm is a huge benchmark in the rise of G Jones as an artist and innovator that will surely drive his talents toward even higher achievements.

He has a stacked tour schedule for the rest of the summer starting August off right with his first appearance at the big dance of bass festivals on the west coast, Shambhala.
