Favorite ThisPsymbionic Remixes "Give It Away" and Does Just That

Published: November 15, 2011

Psymbionic is giving away his brand new remix of the Red Hot Chili Peppers song "Give It Away".  No, he wasn't brain washed by the track's lyrics; he just can't wait for the release of his upcoming EP.  After a few plays, we can't wait either.  Illusions is set to be released December 13th on the Made in Glitch label.

Who would've thought it would be possible to make the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Give It Away" any funkier?  A song that in 1991 seemed ahead of its time in an era searching for a musical identity.  Fast-forward to 2011, 20 years later, a man John Burcham is creating his own musical identity, Psymbionic.  Putting his new spin on the old classic, he layers drumstep rhythms over the top of the track's already funky groove.  He builds it up with soaring synths and manipulated vocals before dropping it down low into an almost Dogg Pound shuffle.  This track bends and bounces, hips and hops, glitches and wobbles all while maintaining the essence of the edgy original.  An excellent blend.  An updated version for a new era searching for a musical identity.

Stream and Download the track below.  As a bonus he included the Instrumental version.
