Falling somewhere on the spectrum between Les Claypool and Reggie Watts, That1Guy has been a festival staple for more than a decade, and I happen to have it on good authority that you're about to see a lot more of him.
The Vegas-based performance artist tours incessantly with his fantastical creation The Magic Pipe, an inexplicable piece of machinery that allows the trippy troubadour to project his wholly original sound. Today, we premiere "Bomb Dignity," a track and video exalting the virtues of another of That1Guy's arrows in his quiver: The Magic Bean. Though it might be one of your go-to's in your own arsenal, you don't use the bean quite like this one guy does.
Adam Shane shot and directed the video in That1Guy's kitchen on a couple of iPhones, so now you should feel pretty special about what you and your buddy use your phones to do all day. Sound engineer Billy Hume was able to use the sonic sketch of the song in the final master, merging the rough acapella recording in the final product, so you can actually the process, from idea to masterpiece in 3 and a half simple minutes.
Stay tuned for new dates and music from That1Guy. His Pipe is coming to your town.
