Welcome to the soundtrack for your week. Longtime collaborators Asher Fulero and Julian Fritz have embarked upon the future chillout project Darkwhyte, whose debut EP Shades debuts today on TheUntz.com. And we're thrilled to death. This 4-track EP is everything we love about the contemporary club sound. And check out that gorgeous Bluetech cover art.

Last month, we dropped opener "Tomb Ric," with its sexy, subsonic vibes. "Minons" takes that brooding aesthetic, and layers a trill melody over a warbling, sinister bass line. Delicate "oohs" and "ahhs" decorate this devious number with a haunting air.

"Fool's Mijool" is a dainty gem. Lacey and sensual, it flits down from above, sending shimmering waves of melody in its effervescent wake. This is precision. This is energy. A standout from the set. Closer "Kelixer" is the most direct track on the EP. Coolly forceful, we're thrust into an icy chamber of psybass drips and drops. Bold and beautiful.

The debut offering from the Darkwhyte duo gives us a glimpse of the tenacity and intensity that today's downtempo and chill beats contain. It's fiery in its elegance, and we're loving every second. Buy it today.
