Denver's Jordan Panasewicz is doing funk his own way.
Blending elements of dubstep, trap, and glitch-hop, the future funk flavor that comes out of the new Pandasaywhat?! EP isn't exactly like all the rest. On FNKMSTR, it would appear that the contemporary sounds of the electronic music realm are where Panasewicz stars, instead of trying to shoehorn in new sounds well after the fact.
Tracks like “Yeah Ha Uhn” and “Love” come for a deeper, darker bass world, and add the funky flavors of his trumpet on top. The title track, “FNKMSTR” has a sinistar feel that bubbles up from a wholly new well of inspiration. The closer “Always On My Mind” featuring Em Impossible is reminiscent of SugarBeats in its blend of silky smooth female vocals and funky glitch-hop.
