The Nadis Warriors have always been at the spiritual epicenter of the psychedelic Texas revival, but their brand new album offers a unique glimpse of the music that shaped its members and narrated their metaphysical journey. TheUntz.com is thrilled to premiere
Illuminating Inspirations Vol. 1, a five-track re-interpretive retrospective of the biggest influences on the Nadis sound--some of which may surprise even the most die-hard fans. With a little help from Mitt Romney and Ozzy (strange bedfellows), the Warriors put a twist on the Sabbath classic "War Pigs," even daring to take on the quintessential Tommy Iommi solo. Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder join a tribute to Beastie Boy Adam Yauch (MCA) which all leads to a stirring rendition of the iconic George Harrison number "Here Comes the Sun." If you're going to put your own spin on Marley, Wonder, and The Beatles, you better know what you're doing. It goes without saying these veterans know exactly what they're doing. The album hits the Nadis Warriors website tomorrow, and they'll be celebrating the album release with a cover show tomorrow night (8/24) in San Marcos, Texas, and then hit The Granada Theater in Lawrence, KS on Saturday (8/25). Come October, Nadis Warriors hit the road for PA sets with
Ott and The All Seeing I and
Papadosio.
