Movement phase 1The Movement Electronic Music Festival will once again return to Hart Plaza in Detroit, MI this Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27th. One of the longest running music festivals in the country, DEMF as it has and always will be known to the old-school fanatics, has recently catered to a more sophisticated crowd since EDM hit the mainstream. Born in the birthplace of techno, and long since a bastion of house, Movement once again gives a nod to the forefathers who paved the way for the current wave of dance music success. Names like Richie Hawtin, Dennis Ferrer, Andy C, and Mala (one half of Digital Mystikz, who brought dubstep out of the underground) pop out at you, as well as Detroit mainstay and legend John Digweed.

But the new crop of electronic superstars is well-represented with the addition of Big Gigantic, one of 2012's biggest breakouts, earning what is sure to be a headlining slot. Similarly, The M Machine, who have found great success on Skrillex's OWSLA brand, carry the banner for the young guns. PLM's SuperVision has also found himself a spot on the lineup.

So really the festival is looking to be in good shape, with "variety" being the buzzword of the event. The Noisia's will have a spot alongside the Hatcha's right next to the Carl Craig's on the lineup. Tensnake hand in hand with Paco Osuna. And all you've gotta do is dance.
