World bass enthusiast MORiLLO has found himself a home amongst the internationally-clined low end tastemakers at Gravitas Recordings.
When he's not touring the world as the drummer for Rhye, Zach Morillo can be found out on the Playa or in the club spinning high-energy smashes and mashes of baile funk, reggaeton, and booty bass from all around the globe mixed with cinematic hooks and lip-splitting verses.
For his latest album, colibri, which is out October 18th on Gravitas, Morillo covers a wide array of sounds and styles from far-flung, exotic places. But on “PPVs,” MORiLLO takes on a much more familiar sound by going super dubsteppy and firing off some big artillery with Baltimore's AWALL riding shotgun. This is a wildly different sound than we've heard from MORiLLO in the past, but he's able to wear all sorts of sonic wardrobes and pull it off, so it's hard to feign surprise here.
