The Untz Festival 2017 Phase 1For those still recovering from the whiplash of last night's jaw-dropping come-from-behind Super Bowl victory, your inclination is to avoid headbanging for at least 6-8 weeks.

Sorry, it's Moniker Mondays.

Jacob Tullos and Brandon Reid this week dip back into their catalog to pluck out a classic from a year and a half ago, “Bogus,” which dropped on the monster Saturate Records EP, Thousand Bit back in May of 2015. For this week's delectable Moniker delight, the Knoxville-based duo unveils “Bogus (The Rebuild).” They've slowed down the bit-crushed banger and filled out those kicks. Where it was rough and ragged before, now that low-end goes on smooth and the melody has been rejiggered to deliver an extra hype hook on top of throbbing bass. You can A-B the tracks to get a real sense for what Reid and Tullos are all about in 2017.

These guys have come a long way in the past 18 months, but more importantly, they're about to go even further: all the way to California, joining their homies on the ThazDope Records stage at The Untz Festival in June. Catch Moniker alongside Toadface, smith., Alejo, Cut Rugs, Psydell, and many more at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds in Mariposa, California.
