Medium Troy just dropped a visceral trip-hop track featuring a fifteen-piece orchestra. Wait a second. Did you just say "trip-hop" and "orchestra" in the same sentence? That can’t work. The physics of it just aren’t there. The chemistry couldn’t synthesize. The angles couldn’t properly align. Medium Troy figured you might say that, but proving people wrong has been a lifelong goal for them.
The trio out of Eugene, Oregon recently launched a stunning project that completely reinvents their already bewitching amalgam of instruments and trip-hop, sticking with the road less traveled and enlisting a crew of over 30 musicians from local groups to aid in stellar live performances and cutting-edge studio sessions. “Clouds” carefully harnesses the potential these artists possess, warming the soul with electrifying synths, turntables, violins, trumpets, cellos, and so much more. Layers upon layers of bohemian dub, spiced up with symphonic sentiments. Need we say more?
