LuSiD - huSTLerIt's been 10 years since Breaking Bad premiered on US television, and nearly 5 years since the show celebrated its finale, but Walter White remains an indelible figure in the fictional anti-hero landscape. You could make the same case for Dean McDonnell, who has been such a staple of the St Louis bass scene for so many years, that I'm going to go ahead and call him the Heisenberg of STL.

McDonnell is slated to release his latest EP on July 26th. His 6-track release is a tribute to his hometown, and huSTLer ends up delivering a sound we haven't heard from him before. Our selection for today's premiere is a deep dubstep ode to Walt White's iconic warning. “Who Knocks” pairs billowing bass with even-tempered drums and a slick finesse. Coming from a much more psychedelic bass background, we were caught off guard by this shift in styles, but not surprised that McDonnell delivered the product with a professional touch.

LuSiD will be performing at a few upcoming festivals in his home state. First is Lighting of the Moon this weekend in Ava, Missouri, then at the beginning of next month is the Burbs Music & Arts Festival in Chesterfield, Missouri. Then in September, he will be performing on the recently announced Astral Lights festival in French Village, Missouri alongside Tipper, Shpongle, Kaya Project, and more.
