Lucidity FestivalA transformational experience, coupled with the rare opportunity to play an intricate role within a major music and arts festival, awaits in Santa Barbra, California. Lucidity Festival: Totems’ Return will be held at the Live Oak Campground April 12-14.  This is like no other music and arts festival in the sense that attendees are encouraged to not only enjoy the widely eclectic music and art scene, but also volunteer to help create experiences for others with workshops, bodywork, and healing services.

Lucidity’s innovative and green conscious atmosphere boasts six individually-themed archetypal villages (campgrounds) to be freely explored.  Furthermore, aerial, acrobatic, dance, fire, roving, stilt and theater performers will be on exhibition throughout the 3-day festival.  Several celebrated artists, including the downtempo glitch/trip-hop sounds of Phutureprimitive, glitch-hop DJ/producer CHRIS B., tribal-psychedelic act Kaminanda, DJ duo Android Cartel, and Canadian bass producer ill. Gates, just to name a few, are scheduled to perform and bring added life to this spiritually sound gathering.  Also, Oakland, CA hip-hop duo Zion I, in addition to numerous live bands with genres ranging from folk to rock will be performing, providing an assorted selection for every music aficionado.

The festival’s focus is to provide attendees with a sense of “enlightenment” with respect to the idea of awakening within your dreams; hence the term “lucid.” This notion serves as the foundation of Lucidity’s conception and motif. The workshops, bodywork, and healing services are included in the ticket price and are an exciting addition for festival-heads.  This is primarily due to the vast array of options that cater to nearly all walks of life.  These workshops include but are not limited to: artistry, breakdancing, fire dancing, yoga, meditation, writing, and even beat-boxing.

Vendors selling everything from food to keepsakes will also be present throughout the event.  Attendees are encouraged to bring refillable canteens, as free water stations will be readily available. Tickets are available at www.lucidityfestival.com; however, they are going fast.  Early bird specials are sold out; whereas 3-day passes, with camping included, are available for $156.  Children under 13 get in free and young adults 13-17 years of age are $50, both of whom are required to have a parent or legal guardian present.

Costumes, LED lights, flash mobs and good vibes are strongly encouraged. However, with Lucidity being a green conscious environment, remember one thing that is vastly frowned upon, NO GLOWSTICKS!  Make sure to bring a friend to take advantage of free general parking, exclusively for carpoolers. For more information regarding event details, performers, workshops and how you can get involved, visit www.lucidityfestival.com.  See you there!
