Of course we're aware the southeast is a hotbed of new and exciting talent. It's the rest of the industry we've been trying to convince of that fact. Two acts making our job a lot easier are Harrison McCord and Jordan Hoffman.
As leet and Mystic Grizzly, these two exciting artists are crawling into the collective consciousness of the bass realm one track and one stage at a time. Most recently, McCord showed off his fancy production work with Jon Casey. Meanwhile, Hoffman is dazzling fans all over his home state of Florida. In the meantime, these two got together over a pair of tunes that will grab the attention of any left-field bass explorers.
“Extra” and “Ordinary,” which jointly make up the Extra Ordinary EP, are both tricky little buggers that duck and dive through categorization and rhythmic cubby holes. They are sturdy low end tunes with plenty of fun tangents that excite even the most jaded of critics (read: me).
Both leet and Mystic Grizzly, along with FRQ NCY, EAZYBAKED, Smokestax, and a whole lot more will be repping the southeast with pride June 1-3 in Mariposa, California for The Untz Festival. Scoop up those tickets at www.theuntzfestival.com.
