Portland-based producer hobi is joining the Wormhole Music Group family with his Semblance EP out March 14th. Each of the four tracks features a deeply bassy west coast aesthetic, but we're focusing in on the Yams collab “Fata Morgana” ahead of the release in order to highlight what hobi does best.

Each richly layered texture adds glitchy sound design elements but in a melodic package. It's not sound design for the sake of sound design. There's a meticulous attention to detail in the brilliant ripples of sonic fabric that weaves into fully realized songs where some producers can end up with a disjointed mess.

hobi joins the Wormhole Music Group takeover at The Untz Festival over May 12-14 in Browns Valley, California. He'll be aligned with Flesh Interface, Vyhara, risik, Comisar, and of course, label captain Secret Recipe. These Wormhole showcases are legendary and we are expecting nothing less this year.
