Not only does Atlanta's Higher Learning have a brand new single, but the livetronica act out of Georgia has found a new home for its music on the label of another band from its home state. Live electronic legends STS9 have signed the up-and-coming four-piece to its 1320 Records. The band has been touring hard for a number of years, and has now caught the eyes and ears of Sector 9, who blazed its own trail in the southeast a decade and a half ago.

"Lok" is a pure distillation of the sound producers Niles Roberts and Adam Chelton, bassist Ryan Renoud, and drummer Rohan Prakash have been developing. Reminiscent of some of the darker, more brooding Tribe material, Higher Learning is creating is own niche with much more emphasis on contemporary production techniques. Glitchy and moody, the vibe of this new track is in line with the bass-fueled sensibilities of Higher Learning, which you can see on display from the band's performance of "Quicksand" at the GATH in Athens last year.
