When you have something to say to the world, Say It Loud. Spring has popped; it is time to blossom and the “Mad Liberator,” All Good Records front man GRiZ has thrown down the soundtrack to set off the celebration properly.

Say It Loud has been bubbling under the surface for a hot minute. We all sat through the dismal months of winter waiting for the sun to break through the gray days and return the soul-satisfying funk to our lives. Weep no more.

The third full-length release from our favorite Detroit All-Star Grant Kwiecinski packs every ounce of bone rattling, spine-tingling, bliss-radiating goodness you could have possibly hoped for. Eleven tracks are almost not enough. Say It Loud is distinctly fresh; overflowing with a creative confidence that stays true to the soul-funk stylings we all know and love while blowing the genre barrier out of the water. Lush instrumentals, crisp percussion and sizzling bass, the list carries on to the clouds, GRiZ has found the magic once again and we couldn’t be more hyped about it.

GRiZAlong with pristine production, GRiZ has brought around a formidable crew of partners to add to the melting pot of future funk and bass music. “Get Down” brings out Sunsquabi and Manic Focus for a funked-out jam party, “Need This” is paired with some truly tasty instrumentals from The Floozies and we even get treated to a glowing verse from none other than Talib Kweli on “For the Love.” Music will always provide a fertile ground for community to flourish and this album shows just how important friends and fam are to the success of artists pushing against the never-ending attempt toward musical homogeny.

Say It Loud is what we all hoped to hear from GRiZ and so much more. With festival season finally upon us and a whole mess of opportunities to see GRiZ do what he does best, there are no excuses not to “treat yo self” to a little extra funk this summer.

To make the day just a little better, Say It Loud is up for free download across all social media platforms. Visit mynameisgriz.com to get straight to the source.
