I've been a big fan of Griff for a while now. The Aussie producer has always blended acoustic sounds in the electronic music field so utterly uniquely, nobody else can quiet capture that magic. One thing I remarked on with his last LP, Interstate, which dropped last year on Addictech, and his brand new album, Unstuck In Time, which drops May 4th on Omelette Records, is that there is this prog rock streak in Griff's work.
Today's premiere, "Missing Pages," the opener of the new album, runs through dub into breaks and into this all out catclysmic climax of crashing percussion and flubbery bass, and then back again into that tropical beach vibe as if nothing happened. The deep understanding of jazz and theory is evident throughout Griff's productions, and we're excited to slowly unveil Unstuck In Time bit by bit.
