With the recent release of
X Rated: The Remixes, the market has been flooded with a number of takes on
Excision's powerful release from a year ago. The dubstep god of the great northern lands is so bold and brash in his own right, it's difficult to capture his swagger, let alone bottle it, reprocess it, and re-release it. Warsaw's Eryk Kowalczyk, a.k.a.
Xilent, has done just that. The cavernous "Sleepless" is originally a bi-polar tune, matching Savvy's haunting vocals with stuttering wubs and staccato snare. Xilent streamlines the tune into an anthemic dubstep hit with big choruses and razor-sharp drops. The Polish producer is still young, just regularly producing for over four years, though his background demonstrates a high musical proficiency. Having just passed 30K fans on Facebook, fans are starting to take notice. And a high-profile release on Mau5trap Records ain't gonna hurt him, neither...
