In late June, the L.A. Coliseum will once again host the wildest, freakiest, most out-of-your-mind carnival experience you could expect to find on this side of the looking glass. It’s called the Electric Daisy Carnival, and it’s going down June 25th and 26th in Downtown L.A. Factor in full-scale carnival rides, five stages, over 70 world-class artists and well over 100,000 companions with whom to revel in the festivities, and you’ve found yourself one of the premier electronic festivals on the continent.

Revelers will find themselves in the beating heart of an electric carnival unlike anything else in the country: Deadmau5 is among the top of the bill for this year’s event and will be joined by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Groove Armada, Benny Benassi, Moby, Kaskade and MSTRKRFT. The full event lineup and schedule is yet to-be-announced, so stay tuned for updates as they occur.

Tickets: General admission tickets are available to those aged 16+ and start out at $65 for Friday and $75 for Saturday. Two-Day General Admission Passes are currently available for $129. All tickets can be purchased at the festival website.

All Ticketmaster outlets will carry Electric Daisy Carnival tickets and you can pick up tickets with no service charge at the Sports Arena Box Office in downtown L.A. Visit the homepage to view a list of independent ticket retailers who are also carrying tickets for the event. EDC:L.A. is also offering a pair of VIP Packages: Friday VIP Passes start at $150, while Saturday VIP Passes start at $175. You can save money and buy a Friday-Saturday VIP Pass for $250. VIP perks include expedited entry into the Coliseum, bar access, VIP observation deck, VIP restroom facilities and VIP Lounge access. Note that to take advantage of the VIP Pass, you must be 21 years of age or older.

Finally, EDC:L.A. is offering a VIP Cabana Package to groups of eight (8) festival goers. Included in the VIP Cabana Package are eight (8) complimentary VIP Passes, two bottles of premium vodka with mixers, open bar access, personal 10’x10’ roped Cabana for your party, personal waitstaff serving your Cabana from 8:30 P.M. until 2:30 A.M., private Main Stage viewing area from Cabana, as well as the remaining perks of the VIP Package. Friday VIP Cabana Packages start at $2500 and Saturday VIP Cabana Packages start at $3000. You can combine the two to save money and purchase the Friday-Saturday VIP Cabana Package for $4900. Again, you must be at least 21 years of age to take advantage of the VIP Cabana Package. Also note that when designated ticket allotments sell out, prices are subject to increase.

Lodging, Parking, Travel: The Carnival organizers, Insomniac, have posted a valuable resource of hotels close to the venue on their website. Click to see the full list. At the top of that page, you will also find travel resources (including air), parking resources and directions to the area if you are driving yourself in.

Stages & Vendors: Electric Daisy Carnival: L.A. will feature five stages of music at this year’s festivities. Organizers have gone to lengths to ensure the most enjoyable, safe and comfortable event possible and they remain hopeful that the changes instituted will help alleviate some of the congestion caused by the 100,000+ electronic music fans in attendance. A picnic area will be part of the site and will provide access to an endless variety of food and beverages, and merch vendors can be found every which where slanging handcrafted goods, commemorative EDC:L.A. gear and artist merch as well.

Facilities: Clean restrooms, ATMs, a general store and fan-friendly staff and security will all be at your disposal during the Carnival. Festival guides can be downloaded and printed at home before your arrival to the event, otherwise you will find them being distributed at the gates and throughout the site. Full bars will be open and serving alcohol for those lucky enough to be 21 or older, but soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for consumption.

Activities: Visit the Carnival’s vendor village to get your merch fix on, where you’ll find everything from handmade goods to jewelry to body art and party favors. Of course, it wouldn’t be a carnival without rides, slides, Ferris wheels and the like, and all of the above will be had for your enjoyment at EDC:L.A. at no cost! Busy yourself at one of the five bustling stages of music then take a break to explore art installations, dance troupe performances, acrobats, fire dancers and much more.

Surroundings: The L.A. Coliseum is situated in Downtown Los Angeles, California and lies just 15 minutes away from L.A.X. A trip to the beach lies just 10 minutes away, Hollywood is only 15 minutes away and Orange County and the San Fernando Valley are just 30 minutes away from Downtown. For those looking to make a full weekend of it, Disneyland lies in wait at a mere 45 minutes away.
