Admittedly, Dillon Francis was inspired by the Skrillex track "Ruffneck (Full Flex)." Now he didn't bite it, let's just be clear about that--he just wanted to produce something similarly pretty, while having a bit of an edge to it. Clearly, it's still Francis-esque, with a lopsided rhythm akin to Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers swinging the shit out of some moombahton hybrid at 112BPM. It's got a gorgeous, synthetic melody, and enough originality to set it miles apart from its muse. Which is good, since it's the de facto single from his OWSLA debut Something, Something, Awesome. Teaser vids slapped all over the Facebook and the YouTubes show Zedd and Francis in the studio; surely an electro-jump up banger is in the cards, but the bigger news for Dillon Francis is his upcoming tour with NERO on their second US tour behind Welcome Reality cleverly titled Second Reality. Do you get it? He hops on in late March, and you can see more dates at TheUntz.com/DillonFrancis/TourDates.
