Desert Dwellers AshevilleWhile many folks are celebrating Halloween on October 31st, live music fans in Asheville, North Carolina will be treated to some of the best psybass on the planet all while honoring an ancient Celtic holiday, Samhain, that remains a mystery to many.

Pronounced “SOW-win,” this tradition that finds its roots deep in Irish mythology is marked halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, and not only rejoices in a bountiful harvest, but also is known to be a liminal time when the gap between this world and the other is most easily crossed—during this time of cleansing and preparation for winter, faeries and spirits can enter into our lives with ease. Samhain observers are known to dress up in scary costumes and dance around wildly.

Sounds like the perfect setting for some psychedelic music.

One of the biggest acts in the psy bass and tribal trance scene, Desert Dwellers, will be joined by Living Light, Templo, Numatik, and other rising artists in the psychedelic scene at New Mountain theater in Asheville on the spookiest of hoildays.

Also on the bill are bass bosses Unlimited Gravity and Project Aspect, as well as Nifty Earth, Pure Colors, BomBassic, and many, many more. All three levels of New Mountain AVL will be rocking this coming Monday.

Living LightDesert Dwellers are coming off a massive sold out show at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado with Shpongle and Ott featuring a production of their sprawling stage show. The duo of Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe have been sonic staples in the psy scene for more than two decades. Living Light's Eartha Harris is actually labelmates with the Dwellers duo, having just released her latest album, Tales From the Karman Line: Atmospheres, on Desert Trax just this month.

Colorado's Liam Shea, the prolific producer who has released seven Templo EP's already this year, is making his debut in Asheville, and his fellow Rocky Mountain State bass producers Ronnie Weberg (Unlimited Gravity) and Jay Jaramillo (Project Aspect). That duo has been touring with its live band this month, and also releasing a mountain of new material.

One of the mid-Atlantic's fastest growing promoters is behind this blowout event. SoGnar Presents has already thrown shows with EPROM, The Widdler, Levitation Jones, Space Jesus & Yheti, and the Never Say Die crew all over North Carolina and Tennessee this fall, and has a boatload more shows coming up this season with RÜFÜS DU SOL, The Orb, Zoogma, and Barely Alive. This team does not stop.

Grab your tickets to this Samhain celebration now, because Desert Dwellers have sold out New Mountain Theater in Asheville more than once. We know this will be an unfortgettable night, and who knows—perhaps you'll catch a glimpse of a friendly sprite...
