Fans here in the States have been clamoring for Canadian sensation Defunk, who today drops his long-awaited full-length debut, Delights, at a very nice price point: yeah, it's FREE. Logan Anderson found a home for his album in the trusting hands of fellow Canadian Nick Middleton (The Funk Hunters). A fan of the funky breaks and tribal trap of Defunk, Middleton supported the 13-track project, and put it up on his genre agnostic Westwood Recordings imprint, which has become a home for his global sonic family with artists like Chali 2na, K+lab, and Crazy Daylight.

We're leading the charge with the single "Sins," which prominently features the Ragga Twins and Raya Brass Band. This Balkan-hop masterpiece pits eastern European melodies against frenetic bass. This potent combo feels like half Beats Antique, half Bassnectar. The connective thread that runs through the entire album is funky bass, killer melodies, addicting hooks, and enough variety to keep you bumpin' it. Defunk made a statement with this one.

Catch Defunk at ARISE Music Festival in Loveland, CO from August 7-9, where we just named him one of the Top 10 acts to catch (and he's playing the best stage--our stage). Then he returns to his home away from home of Colorado to play Red Rocks with Big Gigantic as part of Rowdytown at the end of September. Big things in the work for this favorite of ours.
