Look, DeeZ and Smigonaut didn't have a choice. They had to make a collab EP just for the sake of the joke. These Boston boys would be doing themselves and the entire scene a disservice if they skipped the idea entirely, or worse yet, went with a less juvenile name.
The bottom line is that the 150th release from Street Ritual had to be something special, and Disruptor fits the bill. As the label reaches its 10th anniversary (which it is celebrating next month in Denver), this exciting number is paired with an even more anticipated collection of tracks that pits these two tricky, glitchy, sneaky, and cheeky producers against one another for a dubbed out, halftime, stuntin' display of their production talents.
I had to have “Escape Pod,” which bounces around with a trippy, psychedelic melody (which I suspect comes from Smigonaut) before descending into this intense neuro flex lead (again, guessing, but I think springs from DeeZ). If I'm wrong, I don't want to hear about it, because I frankly don't give a shit. It's a perfect union of their two styles, so it doesn't matter who is doing what, because each track sounds damn good.
Disruptor is out October 16th. Congrats to Street Ritual on the big one-five-oh.
