Just when you thought summer jam season was over, two of the biggest artists on the planet drop the Solstice earworm that will be all over the airwaves for the foreseeable future. Daft Punk has joined forces with pop sensation The Weeknd for "Starboy," an all-hands-on-deck R&B tune with plenty of Daft Punk sheen.
Since dominating the pop landscape in 2013 with their Pharrell joint, "Get Lucky," the French duo have made no bones about holding down their claim to the hearts and minds of American Top 40. Jumping on board with The Weeknd seals that legacy for another decade with a bit of Grammy bait that doesn't feel sugary. It's another shot in the arm for Apple Music, as well, who jumped on the hot commodity.
The title track to Abel Tesfaye's forthcoming 18-track behemoth sets the course for the young singer, who releases the entire package on November 25th.
