ShadowTrix Music has introduced us to another talented newcomer in the west coast bass scene. Chris Noonan comes from a slightly different background than many in the STM stable, producing funk and afrobeat (oh hells yeah) in addition to the bassy stuff.
Today we share the lead track from the new BOA EP, Incarnations, which reveals to us and our fans a little of who this producer is, and what he is capable of doing. The opener, “Shamizen,” is an eastern-flavored, gentle bass roller, giving us slow wubs in the background of a very captivating and invigorating melody courtesy of the Japanese shamisen, an ancient stringed instrument, which cuts through the air like a knife.
Incarnations is out May 22 (that's tomorrow), and BOA joins the Whomp Wednesday crew up in Arcata, California the next day, May 23, for a little EP release party alongside LabRat and others.
