David Holsapple is taking some bold leaps in the field of glitch-hop. The Ft. Collins-based producer releases his Meltdown
EP today on Muti Music, and has crafted some of the most unique sounds we've heard in the lazerbass medium. Atomic Reactor
is a high-powered fission chamber firing particles of glitch at the super-dense bass music scene. Choosing to go high-frequency, rather than low, Holsapple produces hooky melodies with unlikely sounds. "Unreal" is a bold statement about the nature of his unholy methodology. Beyond the gated intro and psychedelic meanderings of the middle section, Atomic Reactor then generates a whole new energy with a twisted reinterpretation of the original melody, almost remixing the tune within itself, like some sort of demented basement creation. This is straight-up mad scientist territory.
