ApasheBrussels' boy wonder of bass Apashe is flying high after the release this week of Copter Boy, his latest full-length out now on Canadian powerhouse Kannibalen Records.

While the album is jam-packed with intensity and littered with collabs featuring some of our favorite acts like Dabin, Kai Wachi, SPLITBREED, and so many more, fans don't quite understand how technically proficient the Belgian is.

That intimate knowledge of theory comes in great part because of his love of classical music (which is evident from this rowdy tour video he just released. So we asked Apashe to give us a list of some of his favorite tunes in the EDM realm inspired by classical music. While you're waiting for Copter Boy to download, go ahead and check out this rack of hot hits.

Black Tiger Sex Machine & Lektrique - Religion

In talking about orchestral music meeting electronic music, this is a masterpiece and I’m not only saying that because the homies made it! The energy building from something epic into something raw and heavy is extremely well done here.

Wolfgang Gartner - Wolfgang's 5th Symphony

Wolfgang put together an all-time classic. If you love electronic music and classical music, then you need to know this one!

Adam F ft. M.O.P - Stand Clear

This song, quite old now, really influenced me in so many ways. It has everything I love from heavy brasses to epic choirs; a fat beat to a heavy rap flow. It’s just perfect combination of what classical music can offer into a hip-hop party song.

Noisia - Meedoen

This one is also an older one; less known than most Noisia songs. I discovered it about a decade ago and the only reason I still listen to it is because of its intro. Not super DJ friendly, but that’s why I love it, they kept it melodic without thinking too much about how are DJ’s going to play this.

Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says

I have nothing to say here except fire! If this song didn’t exist, I doubt I would have ever produced ‘No Twerk.’

Star Wars - Imperial March (Apashe Remix)

Thought I would include this as many of you guys asked questions about it. This was originally a quick edit I did for a Star Wars themed party with Kannibalen in Montreal about 3 years ago. Never thought I would have released it but after playing it again after the last Star Wars came out people just wanted it!
