The pendulum has swung back the other way. From the dizzying drops and bombastic bass of brostep, a palpable shift has turned followers of bass culture around 180 degrees. The West Coast is echoing with the spiritual sounds of psy-step, and the movement has made its way to the East. Aligning Minds, a recent addition to the Re:Evolution Media family based on the Atlantic Seaboard, have wrapped up the emotive elements of downtempo and IDM in the low end stew of dubstep. Hearkening back to its minimal roots, "Satsang Orchard" is a bubbling epic of stark soundscapes and introspection. Michael Folk and Daniel Vibeage have crafted a tender ode to the inner self. Perfect for late nights, sunrise sets, or long car rides, this cut is going to blast off when it hits the live scene.
Aligning Minds will be joining a stellar lineup of EDM superstars at the inaugural IMPULSE Music & Arts Festival in Union Point, Georgia this weekend. "Satsang Orchard" is the sixth installment in the IMPULSE Music Series, featuring exclusive cuts from amazing artists on the bill. Headliners for this three-day festival taking place June 15-17 include EOTO, Papadosio, BoomBox, Zoogma, Emancipator, Minnesota, Archnemesis, NastyNasty, VibeSquaD, Ana Sia, and the list goes on and on.
