Constantly evolving, spawning new sub-genres, and reaching into uncharted depths of the frequency range; bass music has been ingrained in the Seattle scene for well over two decades. Join us every Wednesday as we fuse the sounds of Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Trap, Moombahton, Glitch Hop, Drumstep, and everything in between to write the next chapter in this region’s bass music saga. No frills, no fluff, just industry champions and dedicated locals pushing our sound system to its limits every week. This is SUBstance.

About BARE:

For Los Angeles bassline technician BARE, aka Sean Rodela, 2010 will be fondly remembered as the year his twisted face melting sickness exploded into a worldwide epidemic. Taking the dubstep scene by storm with his staggering studio output and electrifying live performances, there is no question BARE has clawed his way into the ranks of the bass music elite. The BARE sound is a product of his deep roots in rock, west coast hip-hop and aggressive drum ‘n’ bass. These influences, combined with ultra crisp drum programming, slick melodies and mind altering bass modulation, spawn face melting dubstep anthems that practically rewind themselves. BARE’s releases on Ultragore, Basshead Music, Tuff Love Dubs and other high profile labels have found their way onto the playlists of Excision, Funtcase, 12th Planet, Borgore, MRK1 and other high profile dubstep artists around the world. A monster behind the decks, BARE’s high energy, “all killer no filler” DJ performances have earned him a reputation as a tough act to follow. BARE is never afraid to engage his crowd, always as active on the mic as he is on the decks, keeping the crowd locked and constantly coaxing them to go mental. Don’t miss BARE as he unleashes a furious performance at SUBstance Wednesdays on September 4th.

Jesse Tittsworth's one-of-a-kind approach to life and music has been influencing the world of dance music for over a decade. Breaking out as a local favorite in 2004, DJ Tittsworth drew musical inspiration from his hometown of Washington, D.C. to create his own unique take on club music. Honing his DJ skills at legendary parties like Buzz at Nation, the Chinese-American omnivore quickly progressed to playing major festivals around the world like Electron and Shambhala while headlining his own tours in the U.S., Australia, and Asia. In 2006, Tittsworth established his own record label T&A records with DJ Ayres, a label credited with breaking artists and establishing new musical trends. Tittsworth's own production skills were highlighted in 2008 with his debut album 12 Steps on Plant Music which was released to critical acclaim by Billboard, DJ Mag, and URB. In 2010, Tittsworth helped open a new, premiere home for dance music in America as co-owner of U Street Music Hall in his hometown. Keeping the heat on in 2013, Tittsworth is currently touring and in the studio working on new material featuring Q- Tip, Laidback Luke, and Theophilus London.
