Tomahawk Recordings out of Portland, Oregon has released a brand new EP from VGNX, an up-and-comer based in the Bay. Hot Box The Spaceship is an interstellar ride through funky melodies and bubbly bass. It is always refreshing to hear what new artists can bring to the table and VGNX has got something special for you.
The 5-track collection is punchy and fresh. A sprinkle of glitch, wobbly bass, and some added vocal reworks give each track its own unique flavor.
“Heavy” rocks up with a sinister guitar lead, dropping straight into crunchy glitch and bass propped up with the sweet sting of the drum work.
“Westcoast” is a solid underground anthem. With 2 Chainz on the verse and a cosmic “Chronic” reminiscent siren call, the whole track feels thick with a new-school west coast vibe.
