Like many Lotus songs, "Nematode" starts off light and jazzy, gets real trippy, and then just goes completely bonkers. Taking the journey with the band as they find the groove and eventually rocket off the rails is so much fun. Which is no doubt why the five-piece remains of the biggest touring acts in the scene year in, year out.
3. Greet The Mind
Another monster jam vehicle that shows just how hard Rempel can shred, "Greet The Mind" absolutely explodes into an all out frenzy as the build dissolves into the climax in a flurry of guitar fury. AHHHHH yeah. Your cue to lose your shit at a show.
It's obvious why Lotus is that band that so many others try to emulate, but fall short. It's because they know subtlety, and few green artists are fans of subtlety. It's hard to convince a 16-year-old not to come out in a Nikki Sixx wig and set his guitar on fire. But that's probably why there's only one Lotus.
